Hi, I’m Jenny.

^ Those are my cute kiddos, Olivia, August, & Stevie, and my bae Andrew ^

I’m into taking photos, but I’m also into motherhood hacks, mental health, making & baking things, travel, style, design, and coffee. I’m really really into coffee. I hope you find something inspiring, helpful, or just beautiful here.

My #1 Momtographer Hack

October 26, 2023

To all my fellow mamas who want adorable photos of their kiddos (or family) on special occasions, like Halloween, Christmas, or a birthday - I have got my #1 life hack for you.

Are you ready?

Take those cute photos ahead of time.

On the big day (Halloween, Christmas, the first day of school), your child is often totally overwhelmed and distracted by all the activities going on. Presents! Candy! Santa! Finding the perfect moment to take a cute photo can be difficult, or even impossible.

Not to mention, it’s tough to be present and just enjoy the day with your kiddos when you’re also trying to look for the right photo opportunity. I’ve been “that mom” before, and I know no one enjoyed that.

Taking your photos ahead of time kills two birds with one stone: you get to have your sweet photos AND you can put your phone down on the special day and just enjoy your family.

Want more good news: you don’t even have to do it ahead of time! Sometimes, it just isn’t possible. And sometimes, you just can’t nail the photo on the day of. So, just do it later! This method doesn’t quite work if you’re wanting to post to the ‘gram. But if you’re like me, just trying to get the cute shot for your Chatbooks / scrapbook, this method works just fine! Take the pressure off of yourself AND your kiddos and schedule a time to squeeze it in after the fact.

I hope this mom-photography-life-hack genuinely makes your life better and your time with your kids even more enjoyable. It’s difficult to be truly present with them, but it means oh so much to our littles. Enjoy those babes, and remember, NOW IS BEAUTIFUL.
